Barbara Woodward is the founder of Dogs Gone Walking and the fearless leader behind the leash. A lifelong resident of Washington Township, New Jersey, she’s built her business around one simple goal: to make pets happier and their people’s lives easier.
Barbara holds a degree in Communication from Rowan University and lives in South Jersey with her husband Paul, their youngest daughter Julianne, and their two dogs—Chica, the bossy one, and Monty, the big lazy therapy hound. Her oldest daughter, Laurel, now lives in Philadelphia but still calls home when she needs help with the cats.
Barbara’s love for animals runs deep—she was a dedicated Girl Scout Leader, earned her Silver and Gold Awards as a scout, and even holds a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Tang Soo Do (yes, she can handle your rowdy Lab and break a board if needed). She believes her martial arts training and years of walking every kind of dog imaginable have given her the confidence and calm energy needed to care for pets of all sizes and temperaments.
Whether it’s giving pups the exercise they crave or making shy kitties feel safe, Barbara’s happiest when she’s helping pets live their best lives. Dogs Gone Walking isn’t just a business—it’s her passion.
